SEE WHAT HAPPENED ON WEEKEND 100
June 10-June 12 was three days full of fun and fantastic events. Friday morning the Time Capsule, buried 25 years ago in 1991 was opened. Friday night dinner was SOLD OUT, but there were tons of activities throughout the weekend for all to enjoy.
"Let the Games Begin" On Saturday at 10AM in Town Park people gathered to decorate their bikes and drive around town.
Whoever said, "There's no such thing as a free lunch," didn't hear about Weekend 100. FREE Hot Dog lunches were served to over 750 people, starting at 11:30AM.
The Town photograph - a bird's eye view of everyone in the park at 1:30 can be seen in the Weekend 100 photo gallery. We enjoyed the music of Hall Middle School Band and Chorus as well as our very own TOWN BAND. The Centennial Ceremony honored our Centennial Celebration with proclamations and special guest, Senator Mike McGuire.
On Sunday we witnessed the fierce competition of the Centennial Chili Cook-off. Nationally renowned Chef Tyler Florence, Mayor Sloan Bailey and Chamber of Commerce President Jim Parrott judged the entries and everyone could sample the variety of chili being featured. Curtis Fong's chili with an Asian fusion influence overwhelmingly won first prize.
More competition followed the Cook-off with the Police vs Fire Department Ball Game. Did you notice a few ringers on the Fire Department team???? The Fire Department trounced the Police Department. So many new faces on that Fire Department team!!!
Chief Todd Cusimano Scores!
